Speaker: Michael Bengover
“Mentorship – A Business Imperative”
Synopsis of talk: A wise man once said that “Knowledge is the accumulation of facts but Wisdom is the correct application of Knowledge”. We living in times where the graduate thinks he is wise and that the future lies only in his aspirant hands. The problem is that that future actually lies in the mind of the current professional, the wisdom gained from years mistakes, trial and error. The greatest challenge in South Africa and possibly the world over is how to syphon an iota of wisdom out the mind of the Professional into something that can be used by the all-knowing youth of present day. The threat is that many of these youth will never benefit from such wisdom either because of brain-drain or through processes of natural attrition.
