How to identify and deal with stress in the workplace.

Synopsis of Talk:
Stress is considered the number one threat to health and well-being, with many health conditions having stress at their root cause. This talk will highlight some of the symptoms of stress, underlying mechanisms, contributory factors as well as strategies to prevent and manage stress in your personal life as well was within the work context.
Claudette Jordan is a registered psychologist with 17 years of clinical experience working with individuals, organisations and businesses. She is passionate about facilitating people and organizations to achieve an emotionally well and successful life through the provision of individual and staff development and employee wellness providing tailor-made workshops as well as on-site counselling.
Claudette works from a cognitive perspective, assisting with the discovery of how underlying thoughts, attitudes, values and perceptions influence our actions and how we relate with others. She believes that this is a crucial element of individual behaviour as well as team dynamics when working together to fulfil organisational goals.
With an honours and masters degree, she has specialized skills in the area of brain training and is currently the only Cogmed qualified coach in KZN. Cogmed is a scientific, evidence-based brain training program that focuses on improving working memory and attention skills, which form the basis of the brain’s ability to process and store information in order to manipulate it in our thinking.
Claudette has facilitated workshops for various organisations and contributes regularly to popular magazines on various topics related to emotional health and well-being.
